I believe that true freedom is the ability to do WHAT you want to do WHEN you want to do it. And that anything worth doing must be fun and unconventional.
I have always been passionate about travel and my passion has taken me to many places – from the jungles and wilderness in search of animals and birds to the streets of India to indulge my passion for food. I have worked with Airlines, run a restaurant and after running a successful business as the CEO of a multinational firm, I retired from it to be able to indulge my passion for freedom. And, trust me, it has been the best decision of my life and I haven’t looked back ever since.
In my pursuit of freedom to travel and good food, I have travelled over 250,000kms over Indian roads and co-anchored the cult show on street food and regional cuisine – ‘Highway on my Plate’ which has completed 230 episodes amongst the many other shows we have hosted and presented on Goodtimes, Zee Living Foodz and The History Channel. Belonging to an Army family, I have also co-anchored the show ‘JAI HIND’ which takes an inside look at the Indian Armed Forces, on NDTV Goodtimes. I, together with my friend and co-anchor Mayur Sharma, contributes articles on food, travel and current affairs to publications such as FHM, Food & Nightlife, Zomato.com, and Outlook.
I consider myself to be a student of the human condition and believe in smiling a lot, laughing a lot and living life to the fullest. This for me became possible only after I decided to quit my full-time corporate job as my passion demands all of my time. However, wanting to still utilise my experience in corporate training, I am now a partner at MindsEye, a corporate training company, that I have set up with Mayur. Amongst the many gigs that we have done are hosting the NDTV National Food Awards and other events across the country and delivering talks on food-and-travel-related subjects at various forums. Our mission is to always provide a unique, insightful and thought-provoking take on the subject we are talking about.
Here’s my take on life, “The difference between a wise man and a fool is that the wise man will learn, even from the fool”. An avid foodie, & when I am not overeating, I look forward to travel, freedom and above all learning.
